At home as an adjudicator, master class clinician, director and teacher, Tara has a passion for education. She has worked extensively with professional and youth organizations and maintains a private voice studio in her home. Private weekly lessons are scheduled in three semesters: Sept-Dec, Jan-May, and June-Aug. Lessons are available for all ages, although it is strongly recommended that children under the age of 10 have previous musical experience, either on an instrument or as part of a choir or vocal ensemble. During the lessons, emphasis is placed on connecting basic, healthy vocal production and breath management to expression and character. Students will learn about the poetry, and character and meaning of the music and text in addition to our vocal study. The studio has two performances a year, in December and May, to showcase the achievements of each student during the semester. |
GENERAL STUDIO POLICIES
*All prospective students are offered a free, no obligation ½ hour lesson to determine if our learning and teaching styles are compatible*
* Should you decide to study with me, each 1/2 hour lesson is $20.00-a minimum of four lessons must be purchased at a time, with no longer than two weeks between scheduled lessons. This ensures your vocal progress!*
*Lessons are nonrefundable. However, if I am contacted before 9:00am the day of the lesson, a make-up lesson may be scheduled*
*If you or your immediate family members are ill, please call to cancel your lesson- It is much easier to make-up a lesson for one student then all of them should I catch your cold*
*Students should always come prepared with their learning tools: music, water, pencil, notebook, and recording device or tape*
*Most importantly, I maintain a friendly, respectful atmosphere where we can work hard, and have fun!*
